Supports the nervous system during transport.
Holiday time is approaching!
Everything is ready, suitcases are packed, the car has been thoroughly serviced, the children have taken everything they need (makeup, latest swimsuit, sparkling jewelry for teenagers, trendy shorts, electronic games and 48-hour deodorant for teenagers, oh yes, not forgetting their cell phones for posts on Insta, Tik Tok, etc.).

However, Kitty or Fido (Quebec) Medor (France) are not celebrating... During the last trip, they were sick... as a dog. So, they have associated the car, train, boat, etc. as an unpleasant phenomenon.
Do you remember the barking that lasted 7 hours on the road or the high-pitched meows that twisted your ears on the way to your vacation spot? Can you still smell the vomit and/or diarrheal feces?

Did you know that 1 in 6 dogs suffers from motion sickness? This phenomenon often occurs in young dogs but does not necessarily disappear with age.
What causes motion sickness?
Motion sickness is caused by a dissociation between vision, posture, and the inner ear. The eyes see movement, but the body is still, while the inner ear senses the movements of the car. This dissociation creates a feeling of discomfort with vomiting...
Tip: Do not feed your pet in the hours leading up to the trip.
Another piece of advice not to be overlooked: adopting a transport cage is essential for cats during the entire journey, no matter what, because a stressed cat can start running everywhere and, for example, go under your feet, under the pedals.
As for dogs, it's ideal for them to travel separated from the passenger compartment by a grille or a
net, or even better, in a suitable cage, or on the floor of the car at a passenger's feet for smaller dogs. Also, consider travel harnesses and leashes that clip into seat belts. Just a reminder: do not lock your dog in the trunk.
It is also important for the animal to remain "restrained" or to be safely in a cage in case of an accident. This will prevent it from escaping and disappearing into the wild, or worse...
How to accustom your pet to the car?
It's all a matter of patience and starting well in advance. To avoid a real car phobia, we advise you to start accustoming your puppy or kitten to the car very young. Have your dog get in the car with the engine off, for several days in a row. Then do the same with the engine running, also for several days in a row.
Then repeat the experience, this time taking your dog to do something they love: walking, playing, swimming, etc.
For cats, it's a bit more complicated to do since they are in their carrier. Their carrier should remain a pleasant place: place it in your home with treats and let the cat interact with it.
No animal should be locked in a car in direct sunlight!
We cannot stress enough that in summer (or at least when temperatures are quite high), heatstroke is very common in animals left locked in a car. In less than 10 minutes, the temperature inside the car can rise to over 50°, even 70° in direct sunlight. We'll let you imagine the rest.
