Helps maintain immune health of udders, mucous membranes, joints and skin to restore balance with the environment.

The term "mycoplasmosis" refers to all diseases caused by bacteria of the genus Mycoplasma. These are essentially non-zoonotic, contagious diseases (within the host species), affecting many vertebrate hosts (including humans) and often progressing from acute to chronic forms.

Mycoplasma species are generally restricted to a preferential host, in which they can colonize several organs concomitantly (respiratory, genital, udder, joint, etc.).

Among the 145 Mycoplasma species identified to date, nearly a fifth (~30) are isolated from ruminants, whether they are commensal, opportunistic, or pathogenic.

Mycoplasmoses affect all ruminant species, all production sectors, young and adult animals alike, causing heavy direct (production loss) and indirect (cost of control measures) economic losses. These are indeed long-term diseases that persist in affected herds in chronic form, with possible clinical recurrences during a decrease in immunity (e.g., during stress). They are highly contagious. Depending on the associated clinical picture, mycoplasma transmission occurs via aerosols, orally (ingestion of contaminated milk), via the udder (via milking equipment), or via semen. The farm environment as a source of contamination is less documented, and vertical transmission remains controversial. Furthermore, data on the infectious dose depending on the routes of entry are scarce. The introduction of asymptomatic carriers (and therefore undetected) is a significant source of transmission between herds.

Under these conditions, all biosecurity measures to stop transmission are welcome (building ventilation, milking order, quarantine, colostrum pasteurization, etc.). In the absence of effective vaccines for ruminants to date (except for CBPP), control relies mainly on antibiotic treatments. Intrinsic resistances (such as to penicillins due to the absence of a cell wall) or acquired resistances can severely limit the available therapeutic arsenal. This is the case for M. bovis, whose circulating strains in France are multidrug-resistant to most antibiotic families in vitro, with the exception of fluoroquinolones. Autovaccines are regularly used, although no study precisely demonstrates their clinical efficacy.

SoliMycostaph, combined with other supplements from the SOLI range, will help maintain the good health of your animals.
